Tour Description:

Attractions: Corinth Canal,Mycenae, Epidaurus, Nauplia ,Olympia, Rion, Nafpaktos, Delphi, Kalampaka, Meteora, Thermopylae

1st day. We start our Classical & Meteora 4 days organized tour by driving from Athens towards Corinthos where we will take the coastal way to the Corinth canal. There we will make a short stop to enjoy the magnificent view and take some pictures. We will continue our tour by driving along the Saronic Gulf until we arrive to Epidaurus. There we will visit the amazing ancient theater, famous for its fantastic accoustics which gives allows for every sound from scene to reach each of the 12000 viewers, regardless of where they are seated without the need of electronic instruments. After Epidaurous we will continue our journey towards the beautiful city of Nafplion, Greece’s first capital in the year 1829. We will be making a short stop there before we head to Mycenae, the location of one the greatest civilization, the Mycenaean civilization, of the bronze era. This is the place of the ancient kingdom of Agamemnon and you’ll get the chance to visit the wonderful archaeological site and museum, which is full of treasures of the bronze time. Later in the afternoon we will continue our Classicsl & Meteora 4 days organized tour and we will be heading to Olympia where we will have a dinner and stay for the night.

2nd day. Ancient Olympia was a holy place and a sanctuary for Zeus and is also the birth-place of the most important sports event of modern times, the Olympic games which was the held every 4 years in honour of Zeus. You will have the opportunity to visit the musem and also the magnificent archaelogical site where you will feel like you are actually participating in the ancient games. Later on that day we will continue our trip to reach our next destination, Delphi. We will cross the suspended bridge of Rio-Antirrion and then we will have a nice dinner and stay the night in Delphi.

3rd Day. On the mount Parnassos is located the ancient sanctuary of Delphi where the famous oracle Pythia was advising people from everywhere, travelers and kings who seeked answers to their quests. A cultular and religious centre Delphi was bringing unity to the rest of the Greek world, and was also a place of the Pythian games, the most important games of the ancient times, next to the Olympic games. You will visit the archaelogical area as well as the museum where you can see the wonderful bronze statue of The Charioteer, which was dedicated to the got Apollo.Then we will continue driving towards Kalambaka where we will enjoy a dinner and stay for the night.

4th Day. On the fourth day of our Classical & Meteora 4 days bus tour we will be visiting Meteora, a unique community of monasteries which are built on top of rocks. This is the reason they were given the name that means “ Suspended in the air”. The builders showed an extreme skillset since there are no steps and the building process as well as the material were lifted on top of the rocks by the help of ropes and baskets. It’s such a wonderful construction that UNESCO has named it a unique place of cultural heritage. After we have enjoyed the area of Meteora, we will start our way back to Athens and we will be driving through Thermopylae where Leonidas and his soldiers fought bravely.
